We are happy to be holding two events in June - in different parts of the state!

Ann Arbor - Saturday June 13 - evening

Join the Princeton Club of Michigan on June 13th in Ann Arbor at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival's Top of the Park outdoor music event.

This event is free to the public, and the Princeton gathering will be very informal. You can check out the performers listed for that evening at the Top of the Park website.

Where: the University of Michigan campus near the Diag (the location of Top of the Park has been moved slightly towards Hatcher Library this year, for those of you used to the location near the Rackham building). A Princeton flag will be set up to let people know where to gather (it will be set up by 7 PM).
When: Saturday June 13th, 7PM.

Dr. Mark S. Schlissel is the 14th president of the University of Michigan and the first physician-scientist to lead the institution. He became president in July 2014.

Princeton Global NetNight 2015: Career and Life Vision: Define Your Legacy

This year, the Alumni Council Committee on Careers has partnered with the Office of Career Services and Princeton's new Executive Director of Careers Services Pulin Sanghvi for the 5th Annual Global NetNight.

Using concepts from their Career and Life Vision program, Pulin and his team have provided video segments and small group interactive exercises designed to help you discover new insights about yourself and what matters most to you. This is the same program that was launched on campus in January 2014, and has already reached hundreds of students and alumni. You will leave Global NetNight with a new understanding of yourself and inspiration to follow the path most consistent with your unique vision of a happy and meaningful life.

When: Tuesday, March 3, 2015, 6PM-8:30PM
Registration and appetizers begin at 5:30PM Presentation begins at 6PM

Princeton Women's Basketball in Ann Arbor - December 9

Today, Tuesday December 9, the Princeton Women's Basketball Team will play the Wolverines of the University of Michigan at 6:30PM at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor.

Fun facts:

• This is the second meeting of the two teams (last one in 1997)
• Princeton is undefeated (8-0).
• General Admission tickets will be $6.

Dear Princeton Club of Michigan Members,

The Muslim-Jewish Dialogue (MJD) group is comprised of a group of Princeton students dedicated to engaging in dialogue, text studies and community service and providing each other the opportunity to take action and develop deeper understanding of complex interfaith issues through community immersion, direct service, group discussions and reflection activities.

This year we are hoping to spend our intersession break (January 25 - 30, 2015) near Detroit learning about successful models of Muslim and Jewish communities coexisting together. The trip itself is focused on community service and will bring along a diverse group of students who share a passion for interfaith dialogue. It is being organized under the supervision of Princeton Muslim Student Association (MSA) and the Center for Jewish Life (CJL) on campus. By spending our break in Detroit and visiting a variety of Muslim and Jewish organizations, we hope to gain a better understanding of interfaith dialogue and use the knowledge we gain throughout the week as a jumping off point to engage in service activities once we return to campus.

In the past, engaging with the Princeton alumni community has been vital to the success of such alternative break trips. That's why we are hoping to connect with members of the Princeton Club of Michigan who would be willing to offer housing and host the 12 of us for any duration of the break.

We will be bringing our own sleeping bags and groceries and cook for ourselves so no special accommodation would be necessary. We would also love to cook for our host family and be extremely diligent toward the privacy and convenience of our hosts! Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Club Events in the Coming Year

We enjoyed meeting everyone who attended our Princeton Club Happy Hour last Wednesday in Ann Arbor. Our attendees ranged from class of 1966 to recent graduates, and the last attendees stayed until 9:30 or so. Thanks to all who attended - you made our event a success.

Several of our club's Board met earlier this week, and we wanted to update you all on our upcoming events:

• Alumni Schools Committee event to kick off interview season this winter.
• Our Annual Dinner in the spring, when we can invite new admits.
• A Volunteer event in the summer focused on Detroit.
• A new student send-off in August.
• A trip to Art Prize and meeting with alums on the West side of our state in the Fall.

Please be in touch if you would like to help us organize an event!

We're seeking help supporting young alumni activities and looking for someone to nurture our social media presence.

Farewell from Outgoing Club President Seemant Chaturvedi '85

August 2014

Dear Princetonians:

Since 2006, I have had the honor of serving as President of the Princeton Club of Michigan. I hope that I have contributed to the Club’s revitalization and growth during these years.
We have had several memorable events during these years, including the presentation by Professor Jeffrey Eugenides at the DAC, a luncheon and concert at the DSO, and several Annual Dinners at the Birmingham Athletic club.

Michigan has been a great place to raise a family and I will forever value the relationships that I have made in Southeast Michigan among both Princeton alums and the larger community.

Things change in the world of medicine and I have been offered an excellent position in the Neurology Department at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. As a result, I will be relocating to south Florida during the month of August (despite the August humidity). I have a feeling that I will enjoy south Florida in January, especially when I see news reports of snow storms up north.

I would like to recognize the many years of service as Club Treasurer of Jeff Page’64. Jeff has been a vital part of the Club and in addition to serving as Treasurer since 2006, Jeff is a past President of the Club.

I am pleased that Talbot Payne and Dunrie Greiling will continue to serve as leaders with the Princeton Club of Michigan going forward. In addition, several new members have joined the Club’s Board. Feel free to contact Talbot or Dunrie if you have any specific ideas for the Club or if you would like to become more involved in Club programs.

I wish you all the best for the future. Hope to see you in south Florida or at Reunions in the future.

The Princeton Club of Michigan has thawed out and is ready to begin some events for 2014.

We are seeking at least three new Board members, especially from Classes between 2000-2013. We are also looking for a Parent representative of a current undergraduate student at Princeton.

Our goal is to have 3-4 events per year but it depends on the energy of our members. We have over 700 Princeton alumni in Michigan so we should have a vigorous and energetic Club.
